Glyniverse | AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT - A CREATIVE PRODUCERS BEAUTIFUL REBELLION - WHAT IS THE MOST THAT A HUMAN BEING CAN ACHIEVE?
Simon Young - Creative Producer. Visit his website at www.simonyoung.co.nz to see an example of how a person is embracing the full extent of their capability for expression.
There is this lowest common denominator idea that we are taught to become just one specialist thing to serve the societal machine. Is this the best that we can be?
During the Enlightenment and Renaissance periods, thought leaders came into a new idea that we should embrace all knowledge. This pursuit led to end slavery, formed the US constitution and inspired philanthropists to support the careers of Bach and Mozart.
Rene Descartes, Francis Bacon, Immanuel Kant, Cesare Beccaria, Rousseau, Marquis of Pombal, Johann Struensee, Voltaire, Adam Smith, John Trumbull posited that we should become integrated-interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary creators of a future civilisation.
I submit that specialisation is archaic and that those who will build the future will have developed interdisciplinary efficiency.
What this means is that you can indeed learn to become very good at many different disciplines.
Further, that in order to augment trans-human capability, technology will assist the interdisciplinary person to such an extent that they can gain much quicker mastery, then rise up in multiple fields of activity.
If you want to see a leading example of this ideology, take a look at creative producers like JEFF BRIDGES, who is a PHOTOGRAPHER, ACTOR, SINGER, ARTIST, PHILANTHROPIST, PHILOSOPHER and more, and a clear leader in every field.
I invite you to take a look at Simon Young 杨瑾鸿
Watch his rise across multiple disciplines.
Then reconsider what you may yet do.
